Asos says hacker accessed customer names and contact details through an employee account

Asos said an unauthorized party impersonated a trusted contact to obtain credentials for an employee account, then accessed information on third-party platforms used by the retailer. The company said customer names and contact details were accessed.

Asos said payment-card details and passwords were not accessed, affected platforms were locked down, and it was working with law-enforcement and regulatory authorities.
