Avanti West Coast and Aslef agree to 3.6% train-driver pay increase

Avanti West Coast and the Aslef union agreed to a 3.6% pay increase for train drivers after members had considered strike action.

Avanti West Coast and the Aslef union reached a pay agreement covering train drivers on routes including London to Manchester. The settlement includes a 3.6% increase, enhanced Sunday pay and payments for working a fifth day.

The agreement follows Aslef's June announcement that it planned to ballot members about possible industrial action.
