Bipartisan Senate leaders urge Trump administration to accelerate Russia sanctions

Senate leaders urged the Trump administration to move faster on enforcing a new Russia sanctions law intended to support Ukraine.

In a letter to the secretaries of State and Treasury, Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Roger Wicker called for quicker action against oil-shipping networks, financial channels and other tools supporting Russia's war in Ukraine.

The senators said key provisions of the law were due to take effect after the administration's review period.
