European intelligence chiefs warn Russian operations against NATO could intensify
European intelligence leaders warned that Russian sabotage and other operations against NATO countries could intensify, while differing on the risk of an imminent attack.
Intelligence chiefs from the Czech Republic, Latvia and Sweden told The Guardian that Russian sabotage activity in Europe is likely to increase. Czech intelligence chief Michal Koudelka said a limited incursion or provocation could occur within months.
Latvia's security chief said his service saw preparations for more decisive Russian action but no indication of an imminent attack, cautioning that alarm could further Moscow's effort to spread fear.
