Federal agent opens child-exploitation probe into banned Texas volleyball coach
A Homeland Security Investigations supervisor said he opened a child-exploitation probe into banned Texas volleyball coach Ryan Richardson.
An HSI supervisor told ProPublica and The Washington Post that he opened the investigation after their reporting on Ryan Richardson, who continued coaching teenagers in Pharr, Texas, after the U.S. Center for SafeSport found misconduct and barred him. Richardson did not respond to the outlets' requests for comment on the probe or their earlier reporting; he previously denied wrongdoing in comments to a local news site.
