GAO says Coast Guard reforms on sexual misconduct remain incomplete
The GAO reported that the Coast Guard has begun reforms addressing sexual misconduct but has not fully implemented earlier accountability recommendations.
The Government Accountability Office said the Coast Guard has started acting on recommendations intended to change its culture and improve reporting to Congress and the public, but the work remains incomplete.
The review follows Operation Fouled Anchor, an internal investigation that found the Coast Guard Academy had mishandled more than 100 sexual-assault allegations dating from 1990 to 2006.
