Houthi official warns other countries against joining Saudi-led fighting in Yemen
A Houthi political official warned countries against joining Saudi Arabia in Yemen and said indirect contacts with the United States took place through Oman.
Houthi political bureau member Mohamed al-Bukhaiti told The Associated Press that the group could fight on multiple fronts if other countries joined Saudi Arabia in Yemen. He also confirmed indirect contacts with U.S. officials through Oman and said the group had pledged not to target U.S. vessels in the Red Sea.
The comments followed renewed fighting, Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and the rebels' advance along Yemen's western coast toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
