Hundreds of thousands of children return to in-person classes across Gaza
Children across Gaza returned to face-to-face classes for the first time in nearly three years, many in damaged schools and temporary classrooms.
The new academic year began with classes in surviving school buildings, tents and other makeshift spaces. Gaza’s Education Ministry said about 541,000 students returned, while UNICEF reported that 98% of school buildings had been damaged or destroyed.
