James Clyburn calls for expanding Supreme Court to 13 justices
James Clyburn said Congress should expand the Supreme Court from nine to 13 justices during an interview aired Sunday.
Clyburn endorsed increasing the number of Supreme Court seats to 13 in an NBC News interview. He argued that recent court decisions warranted congressional action.
Previous Democratic proposals to expand the court have not passed, and Republicans have opposed such efforts as court-packing.
