Japan's Izu Islands face evacuation warnings as Dujuan is forecast to regain typhoon strength
Evacuation warnings are in place in Japan's Izu Islands as Tropical Storm Dujuan is forecast to strengthen again and bring heavy rain, high waves and landslide risks.
Dujuan is forecast to strengthen back into a typhoon while moving across the Izu Islands, although mainland Japan is expected to avoid a direct hit. The Guardian reported widespread heavy-rain, flooding and landslide alerts, with parts of the Chubu and Kanto regions potentially receiving about 200 millimeters of rain in 24 hours.
