Lao man deported by U.S. to Eswatini released after more than a year in prison
A Lao man deported by the United States to Eswatini was released from prison after more than a year and was being sent to Laos, his lawyer said.
Phone Chomsavanh was among immigrants deported from the United States to Eswatini in July 2025 under the administration's third-country deportation program. His lawyer said he had been held in a maximum-security prison despite not being charged with a crime in Eswatini.
