MIT researchers report AI model that reconstructs cells’ signaling histories
MIT researchers reported that their machine-learning model can infer signaling pathways cells encountered during development from patterns of gene activity.
MIT and Whitehead Institute researchers reported that their IRIS model identifies pathway-specific patterns in gene activity and uses them to estimate the signals cells received during development.
The team said it tested the model in mouse embryos and used its predictions to guide experiments involving lung-cell development.
