NASA pilot completes first X-59 cockpit engine run in California
NASA said test pilot Mike Lippert operated the X-59's engines from its cockpit for the first time during an August ground test in California.
NASA said Mike Lippert completed his first cockpit engine run aboard the X-59 at Armstrong Flight Research Center on Aug. 27 as part of his training to fly the experimental aircraft. Lippert is the third pilot supporting the agency's effort to test quieter supersonic flight over U.S. communities.
