Nepal issues new flood warnings as regional death toll reaches 750
Nepali authorities issued new flood alerts as officials reported 750 deaths across Nepal and China's Tibet region, with more than 3,000 people missing.
Authorities in Nepal warned residents in flooded districts to remain alert after water levels rose in the Bhotekoshi River. Rescue teams were also working to reopen a highway linking Kathmandu to one of the areas hit hardest by Wednesday's flash flood.
Officials reported 734 deaths in Nepal and 16 in China's Tibet region. Nepal's disaster agency listed 2,498 people as missing, while Chinese authorities reported 546 people unaccounted for.
