Nepal-Tibet flood death toll reaches 768 as more than 3,000 remain missing
Officials reported 768 confirmed deaths and 3,048 people missing after a glacial collapse triggered flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border.
Rescue crews continued searching inundated communities as authorities warned that rising rivers could bring further flooding. Nepalese rescuers were also working to reach more than 100 people believed trapped at the Trishuli 3A hydroelectric site.
The U.S. Geological Survey attributed Wednesday's disaster to a glacial collapse that sent water and debris downstream. Authorities said more than 3,700 people had been rescued in Nepal.
