OpenAI adds Epic health-record integration to ChatGPT Health for clinicians
OpenAI announced a read-only Epic integration that lets clinicians import patient records into ChatGPT Health and use AI to review the information.
OpenAI said clinicians can use the integration to review information including appointment notes, laboratory results and medications. The company said access is read-only and does not allow the AI system to write changes back to patient records.
OpenAI also announced a plugin for retrieving healthcare information from public sources including ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed and federal coverage and medication databases.
