Pentagon signs seven-year agreements to expand THAAD and Patriot interceptor production
The Pentagon announced seven-year agreements with General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin to increase production capacity for THAAD and Patriot interceptors.
The framework agreements are intended to quadruple production capacity for THAAD interceptors and triple capacity for Patriot PAC-3 MSE interceptors, according to the Pentagon. They also cover faster production of key components.
The agreements were announced as recent military operations have increased scrutiny of U.S. interceptor inventories.
