Reports say Trump administration proposed board to review NIH grants
The Guardian reported that administration officials proposed an outside board with veto power over NIH biomedical research grants.
The Guardian, citing reports from The Washington Post and Politico, said administration officials discussed an executive order that would create a committee to review National Institutes of Health grants.
The proposal reportedly would require unanimous approval from a board including budget director Russell Vought and NIH director Jay Bhattacharya. The White House and Health and Human Services did not immediately comment to the Guardian.
