Russian strikes kill at least 12 in Kyiv and surrounding region, Ukrainian authorities say
Ukrainian authorities said an overnight Russian attack killed eight people in Kyiv and four nearby during a sixth consecutive day of heavy strikes on the capital.
Ukrainian authorities said Russian missiles and drones struck residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in Kyiv and the surrounding region, killing at least 12 people and wounding more than a dozen. Three children were among those reported injured.
Russia's Defense Ministry said it targeted weapons facilities and military-related infrastructure. Ukraine's air force said the attack involved missiles and 218 drones and decoys, with additional damage reported in other regions.
