Search continues for thousands missing one week after Nepal-Tibet floods
Search teams are still looking for nearly 4,000 people after floods in Nepal and Tibet killed more than 1,100, Al Jazeera reported.
Search and rescue work continued a week after floodwaters, mud and rocks swept through communities in Nepal and Tibet following a glacial collapse. Al Jazeera reported that more than 1,100 people were killed and nearly 4,000 remained missing.
The UN Development Programme estimated that the disaster left at least 2.2 million tonnes of debris. Nepal's army was drilling and digging to reach workers believed to be trapped near damaged hydropower sites.
