Seven Ethiopian armed groups form alliance against Abiy Ahmed's government
Seven Ethiopian armed groups said they formed an alliance seeking to remove Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's government and establish a transitional administration.
The alliance includes armed organizations from the Amhara, Tigray and Oromia regions as well as four smaller groups. Its members said they would set aside differences and work toward a transitional government.
The announcement follows renewed clashes in Tigray and continuing conflicts in Amhara and Oromia. Ethiopia's government had not publicly responded when Al Jazeera published its report.
