Tarrant County proposal would eliminate 92 Election Day polling sites
A proposal before Tarrant County, Texas, would provide 92 fewer Election Day polling sites than the county used in the 2022 midterms.
Tarrant County officials are scheduled to vote Tuesday on a plan that would leave voters with more than 200 Election Day locations. Officials say it would remove low-use sites and conserve resources.
Democrats and voting-rights groups oppose the reductions, warning that they could confuse voters and disproportionately affect minority communities. County officials say accessibility and proximity to transit were considered.
