Texas transportation agency halts approvals for Flock license-plate cameras

The Texas Department of Transportation said it has stopped approving Flock license-plate readers and similar third-party devices along state-owned roads at Gov. Greg Abbott’s direction.

The agency said it reviews installation permits but does not access data collected by the cameras, which are requested by law enforcement agencies.
