UK prosecutors charge Rwandan man with offenses linked to 1994 genocide

UK prosecutors charged Vincent Brown with seven offenses linked to Rwanda's 1994 genocide, in the first case of its kind brought in Britain.

The Crown Prosecution Service charged Vincent Brown, formerly Vincent Bajinya, with one count of conduct ancillary to genocide and six counts of conduct ancillary to murder as a crime against humanity. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors allege that Brown directed and incited killings and genocide carried out by others in Kigali in 1994. The charges follow a Metropolitan Police war-crimes investigation; Brown is entitled to a fair trial and the allegations have not been proven.
