US threatens dollar-system penalties for companies servicing Iranian airlines
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said airports and companies that continue servicing Iranian airlines from Wednesday could lose access to the US dollar system.
Bessent said the warning applies to airports, fuel suppliers, ticket sellers and other service providers. The threat follows US sanctions this month against remaining Iranian airlines and companies accused of supporting the sector.
