US Treasury chief says another bank will face Iran-related sanctions
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States plans to sanction another bank this week over alleged financial ties to Iran.
Bessent told The Associated Press that another bank would be targeted but declined to identify it. He also said further financial institutions could be cut off from the dollar-based system.
The planned measure follows a new round of US sanctions against people and entities Washington accused of helping Iran generate oil revenue, obtain weapons and conduct cyberoperations.
