World Food Program halves West Bank aid amid funding shortage
The U.N. World Food Program said it will cut West Bank food assistance from 400,000 people to 200,000 starting in September because of a funding shortage.
The U.N. World Food Program said it is reducing the number of people receiving food assistance in the West Bank from 400,000 to 200,000 this month. The agency also warned that further cuts may be needed in Gaza unless it secures additional funding.
WFP said it needs $386 million over the next six months to assist an estimated 2 million food-insecure people across the West Bank and Gaza.
